AVU LAGOON

Located in the northern part of the Keta Lagoon Complex Ramsar Site, the Avu Lagoon is an unique wetland area where you can experience and explore its wildlife and avifauna, tropical wetland vegetation, communities with an interesting history and traditions and local sugarcane distilling, or get yourself involved in water adventures.

VOLTA RIVER ESTUARY

The Volta River ends up in the Gulf of Guinea between the villages of Anyanui in the Volta Region and Ada Foah in Greater Accra. The estuary is characterized by forests of red and white mangroves which are home of a variety of bird, reptile and mammal species. Around the estuary, communities are engaged in tradtional fishing practices and get their fresh catch of the day on land early morning beneath the shadow of scattered palm trees.
